Date night at... IHOP?

{We’ve been to Olive Garden several times over the last few months… great food and plenty of it! We drive right by Applebee’s and IHOP for some reason.}

America’s middle classes earning more than $75k a year are battling inflation by heading to chain restaurants like Applebee’s and Olive Garden - because portions are bigger!

Wealthier Americans have swapped high-end restaurants for chains that offer larger portion sizes and deals

Dine Brands CEO John Peyton announced that sales at Applebee’s and IHOP grew 6 to 8 percent among households earning over $75,000 a year

He suggested the restaurant’s large portion sizes at affordable prices have made the restaurants a go-to spot as Americans face a looming recession

Now restaurant chains across the US are offering deals to lure customers in

The federal government announced on Wednesday the inflation right dipped slightly from a 40-year high of 9.1 percent in June to 8.5 percent in July

Private beef (pun intended): Over the years I’ve eaten in lots of “plebian” restaurants and a lesser number of really posh joints. In general, the fancy places make the plates of food artistic to look at and equally tasty, but with few exceptions, act like the major portion of their operating expense is the price of the food material on your plate. It seems a shame to pay a hundred and fifty bucks for a meal and then feel like heading out to McDonalds for the rest of your meal :slight_smile:
