Going the way of Rex Tillerson.
The goal is to decouple.
1 defense to go
2 state to go?
3 treasury to go?
Maybe switch 2 and 3.
For those who are still oblivious, these guys have no merit.
No loss
Let’s get on with the great depression.

Anyone think they can time these lemming stampedes, and not be whipsawed to death?
Steve
And here I thought this was a thread about (not) kissing.

Dear Steve,
They are trying to prop up the markets.
Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me twice shame on me.
That was my usual takeaway from the talking heads on bubblevision. Now, we here “official” rumors on both sides, stampeding the market up one day, and down the next. If any of these people knew what they were going to say, before they said it, they could make a killing that would make the antics of a well known mutual fund manger, frontrunning his moves in the fund with his personal account, look like playing for matchsticks.
Steve
They could cut the tariffs by 67% against China and there will still be a great depression.
China may not be interested in what Bessent is selling.
China asks Korea not to supply products using rare earths to US defence firms, paper reports
China has warned countries seeking exemptions from United States President Donald Trump’s tariffs not to strike deals at its expense.
Beijing’s warning comes as dozens of US trade partners are scrambling to negotiate relief from Trump’s trade salvoes, including steep “reciprocal” tariffs that have been paused until July.
Dear PF,
Trump is not interested either. Trump just wants to talk up the market.
Absolutely they are. And, on the very day of Tesla earnings.
Bessent batted down a Wall Street Journal report that the Trump administration is considering cutting tariffs on Chinese imports, in some cases by more than half, as a way of deescalating tensions and could also be considering a tiered approach.
Bessent said he would be surprised if the administration were having discussions on tariff cuts, noting, "No unilateral offer from the president to deescalate, not at all.”
