I guess Europe can get all the nat gas it needs from Russia.

The US no longer supports the proposed EastMed natural-gas pipeline from Israel to Europe, the Biden administration has informed Israel, Greece and Cyprus in recent weeks…

The EastMed pipeline, meant to transfer natural gas from Israeli waters to Europe via Greece and Cyprus, was announced in 2016, and several agreements have been signed between the three countries on the subject. The three states aimed to complete the €6 billion project by 2025, but no financing has been secured for it.

This project to build LNG export facilities near Goldboro Nova Scotia has been on and off for years. Looks like the company has right-sized floating LNG facility for its Goldboro LNG project on Canada’s east coast. Pieridae produces huge amounts of Nat Gas in Alberta is hoping to get their product to higher paying markets. At one point the German government offered to help fund the project in return for first dibs on the output.

Hmmm Pieridae’s stock is up over 9% in past five days. The don’t pay a dividend so not on my shopping list.

Europe’s search for more gas faces significant headwinds

Faced with the potential of Russian gas supply disruption amid continued concerns over Ukraine, the European Commission is on a mission to look for additional gas deliveries from other parts of the world…“It’s hard to believe that European and US politicians don’t understand that if any supplier had more gas to sell, then at current prices it would already be selling it,” Stern said…

It is therefore difficult to imagine that Qatar – the world’s biggest LNG exporter in 2021 – could consider breaking its contractual supply obligations to its customers in Asia in order to divert cargoes to gas-starved Europe, for example…The US is expanding its LNG export capacity in 2022 and would in theory have more gas to send to Europe, but price is likely to be a bigger factor in whether cargoes go to Asian markets instead…Should Russian flows be disrupted, however, a higher European price would almost certainly be the result, which would likely see more LNG cargoes come to Europe…

Europe’s other pipeline suppliers already appear to be pumping as much gas as they can, with Norwegian deliveries regularly at their capacity of more than 350 million cu m/d in recent months.

The Norwegian PM was on the news last week talking about this. The problem is being dependent on Putin’s goodwill for adequate gas supplies is a threat to national security.
