Fidelity Roth conversion

This is the first time I’m trying to convert some of my assets from a traditional IRA to Roth IRA. Both accounts are at Fidelity. Wondering if its possible to do this online - the interface simply asks me to choose the transfer from and to accounts. I’m wondering if I will end up converting the whole account if I hit “continue”? I’d like to choose existing stocks to move at this point.

Thanks!

Hi aps098,

I don’t have a Fidelity account.

On Schwab when I did this, I was asked "Cash Only, “Cash and Securities” or “Securities Only” or something like that.

Then the “Which Accounts” question question.

Once it was answered, I got a screen to select stock and share count.

I suggest working in to it. You will have a Confirm or Cancel option before it commits anything.

Does that help you?

Thank you, Gene. Yes - that helps. I clicked through the interface and I’m able to select the stocks I want to move. Thank you!

But before I make the move, I have more basic general questions (not related to Fidelity). Let me start a separate thread.

Thanks!
