Certainly this was the case. The dealer organizations in each state have great power due to their “contributions” to various politicians, the same way they have kept Tesla from doing actual “sales” in a dozen or so states and about 9 states that have limits on the number of Tesla stores (ranging from 1 to 5 and one with 13). This is utterly ridiculous given at the same time the federal government is promoting EV sales by giving out rebates and money to install chargers nationwide
The agreement was that the dealer set their prices (higher or lower or the same as MSRP) and Ford would put it on their web site to allow online ordering, bypassing the dealer haggling.
