Here comes another EV from GM in the form of an all-electric Chevy Silverado: Chevrolet opened a new front in the Truck Wars on Wednesday, vowing its electric Silverado EV pickup will beat the Ford F-150 Lightning on a host of key performance metrics, including driving range, towing capacity, power and passenger space.
Gee, who will buy an electric pickup? Obviously Ford, GM, and others think enough people will.
Almost everything will slowly shift to EV … so in the end, almost everyone will be buying an EV.
But this particular one is kind of comical in the sense that the fine print (in the article) repeatedly says that the model with 400 mile range is $105,000! So yet another question is - who will buy a $105k truck? I hope they will have one with 300 mile range at about $60k, because THAT will sell.
“The RST model of the all-electric pickup truck will be available in the Fall of 2023 fully loaded for $105,000 with an estimated range of 400 miles on a full charge.”
