The collar controls individual animal movement keeping the animal within a geofenced range, moving the animals between paddocks.
This affects grazing patterns, impacts on rangeland ecology, and ranch economics.
All without a cowboy riding the range.

In June 2025 Halter announced a Series D funding round reported as US$100 million, with local media reporting NZ$165 million and a valuation of about NZ$1.65 billion (around US$1 billion).
This is a good idea. But couldn’t someone just use a few beacon towers constructed at strategic locations to accomplish most of the same things? Maybe much cheaper than paying for a Starlink subcription for each cow.
The video mentions this, and says it’s a reasonable solution for “small” operations, but not for the expansive rangelands of the American West.
