Heroes of Ukraine

I hope this soldier is still alive. His bravery explains why Ruzzia will never, ever take Ukraine:

Heart is wonderful.

But Russia has a LOT more people to draw upon than Ukraine and can endlessly produce more munitionsā€¦ because nobody is bombing their factories.

Not saying Ukraine will lose, but itā€™s not a sure thing win.

Rob, their munitions factories are an absolute mess. Kleptocrats and Oligarchs sold off machinery, minerals disappeared.

And it sounds like you are not following all the protests back in Moscow, St. Petersburg and elsewhere along with the Resistance blowing up stuff in Russia.

Putinā€™s Army wants him gone.

Youtube is filled with videos leaking from Russia. Itā€™s bad and getting worse. The graveyards for soldiers in tiny villages are like something you would expect after 25 years in Afghanistan (yes, I know Russiaā€™s stay was much shorter, just extrapolating). The videos from Ukranian soliders dropping grenades on Russian boys huddled like trapped dogs in trenches is something I can no longer watch. I donā€™t hate those Russian boys. I hate they are the cannon fodder of an oppressive tyrant who needs to be stopped, now, at any cost.

My drill sergeant in Basic Training was a Berkley grad and already had 3 tours of Vietnam under his ammo belt. Tough as nails. A real Type A man.

He prepped us by telling us in private talks that he was against the Vietnam War, that he was ā€œgivingā€ back to us by instilling we have to watch each otherā€™s back over there and everybody will come back home.

151 of my fellow soldier in basic were from California prisons with the deal they serve 13 months in sunny Vietnam and not F-up in the Army, their records would be expunged upon end of service.

9 of us had never been in prison.

All of us were poor boys.

Poor white trash from the worst most impoverished parts of cities, suburbs, and country trailer parks.

Black kids from even worse inner city poverty than us.

Brown boys from the barrios of East LA.

Native Americans from horrifically impoverished reservations.

Thatā€™s my tribe I miss. I never got back to them except in the bar business, where you have to have a very thick skin and know how to watch out for each otherā€™s back.

Anyway, my Drill Sergeant told all of strapping young Americans, ā€œThereā€™s only one man on this Earth Iā€™m afraid of: he wears black silk pajamas, and has made sandles from old tires, he carries an AK-47 like its a lover, and he is outstanding in taking any refuse and turning it into a weapon. He is fearless. Heā€™s on his home turf. He doesnā€™t want us there. He wants to self-determine the direction of his country. He is the Vietcong and they are fighting for their homes from home. We will never defeat them. If I teach you one thing it is to beware of these tiny foes with formidable heart.ā€

The Ukranian Forces are the new Vietcong. Iā€™ve seen a half-dozen videos this past week of one man under incredible duress and fire, carrying on like John Wayne from an earlier timeā€™s movies. Unbelievable bravery. Seriously off the charts. Heady stuff. You can get high off the moment caught on video. A man, clearly in danger, fighting tooth and nail to protect his home country from invasion.

Ukraine will never give up to Ruzzia. And we best arm them now or weā€™ll be dealing with Putin later in Moldova, Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, thereā€™s no stopping Putin if we donā€™t stop him now.

Pound the Pi$$ out of the Russians, NATO. I support the Ukranians.

p.s. The millions of Russian dissidents who skedaddled out of Russia are forming a new resistance for ā€œpost-Putinā€ and if they have a say, Russia will host real elections once Putin is gone, and all oligarchs will have hell to pay.

Iā€™ve seen nothing of a resistance blowing up things or the Army ā€œwants him goneā€ (although Iā€™m sure many in the Army are unhappy with this war). And I have heard nothing of ineffective munitions factories. Iā€™ll do a bit of searchingā€¦

No argument there! And, for that matter, itā€™s a bad thing for Russia to ā€œjustā€ have Ukraine.

The resistance is not only sabotaging recruitment centers, ammunitions depots, and growing in size, they also give great intel to Ukrainian forces:
