HIMS hit the afterburners today +24%

FYI

Super Bowl LIX was the most-watched Super Bowl in history with 127.7 million viewers. Putting its commercial in front of all these potential customers turned out to be a good idea for Hims & Hers Health as traffic has grown 650% since it aired. A company spokesperson told Fierce Healthcare that the ad “did a great job of driving awareness about the Hims & Hers platform.”

I signed up for Hims’ GLP-1 meds back in November 2024. It took just 2 days for them to ship my first dose after approved. I know they’ve been working on ramping up capacity since then based on some job descriptions they’ve been hiring for.

Since the Super Bowl, I’m seeing on their site that it’s now taking 6-9 weeks for patients to get their first GLP-1 shipment due to the high volume, presumably from that Super Bowl ad.

They were 6 weeks delayed on shipping GLP-1 (Ozempic) drugs starting in December (before the Super Bowl ad). In the last two weeks there were quoting 6-8 weeks (in-line with your number). They also cut prices from 199 a month to 160 a month. Ro was offering Zepbound (which seems to be superior to Ozempic) but couldn’t deliver to California. Noom could ship Ozempic fast but prices were 279/mo.

All signs suggest to me that HIMS is going to report good demand going forward and a significantly backordered situation. Nominally a backordered situation sounds good (selling more than you can make) but I’ve actually seen many situations where backordered was viewed negatively by the street.

This said I’m betting the rally will continue through earnings. Of course, could be wrong.

Thanks,
Rob
