I am really happy to have added SKX

I added a little SKX (Skechers) to my port after their earnings, and just wanted to try it. I also wrote a put.

It’s been doing very good in the short few days that I’ve owned it,and I am also having a lot of fun spotting GoWalks on women around town. It’s going to be a fun company to follow and I’m very happy to have something that is part of what Saul is working on (I also hold SWKS via a Fool service and I have a little AMBA too.)

Karen, I also have started building a position again in SKX. I actually owned them a couple years ago at $12, and was very pleased with myself when I sold in the low $20’s for a quick double. Back then it was a value play (from the TMF Deep Value service) based on the lawsuit and regulatory investigation against them. Based on the fines that much larger Reebok ended up having pay for the same issues (claims that wobbly shoes would tone your calves as the muscles worked to stabilize you all day), Deep Value calculated that Skechers’ fines would probably be less than the tax refund they were getting that year – and they were right. But I never even thought of SKX as a growth company at the time.

But now I’m back

SKX (Skechers) is required by all Solar installers to wear who werk for VSLR. That or fall off the roof. No brainer.

Hi Karen,

I’ve been following this board for about a year and followed the discussions on SKX. I had heard of SKX years ago, seen their ads, but never really thought much of them as an investment. Thanks to the SKX posts on this board, I started following SKX and finally dipped my toes into the water on April 2 via a synthetic long using January 2017 options (purchased $55 Calls and sold short $55 Puts) that represents about 1% of my portfolio. Needless to say, I have been very happy with the results to date which are nearly a 100% gain. Provide the growth continues, my plan is to convert the Calls to shares in January 2017. At that point, SKX will become a much larger position in my portfolio.

For me the beauty of this board has been the education and opening my eyes to companies I had not previously considered as investments or, in some cases, even heard of.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi, can you tell me more about that? SKX makes work shoes?

Karen

Karen,

http://www.skechers.com/work watch the commerical to the far right.

however the installers have to wear sneakers. The CEO was wearing shoes and he nearly fell of of the roof.

The thing that sold me is I bought a pair of Skechers sandals and I love them. I have plantar fascitis and it is challenging to find something that works. I found one pair of SKX that I love. They are great, and – they were cheap! I have been looking at comfort shoe brands that are $100. I got my sandals for $40. I want to buy another pair!!!

Many people need / want comfort shoes and they want reasonably priced shoes. This is great.
