I should never have thrown in Tesla casually, without thinking of consequences, as an example of a story stock. I forgot how people have such emotional attachment to their cars and the company. I’m not saying that as criticism, I’m criticizing myself for not having remembered that, and how, a few years ago, arguments Tesla about it almost paralyzed the board. I really, really, should have known better. I just wasn’t thinking. PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES! Tesla is not a stock we can have a rational discussion about, and it’s not a stock for this board anyway. I hope everyone who’s had something they just absolutely needed to say has said it. PLEASE, LET’S END DISCUSSION OF TESLA NOW !!! And again, please accept my apologies. I just wasn’t thinking.
You pointed out the perfect stock as a story stock.
Great product.
Great company vision.
Emotionally compelling.
Horrendous finances.
Bleeding cash.
Dangerously short runway.
The story isn’t over, but the story is a gamble.
It’s important to speak facts.
Cheers,
Just a Fool
Who has no position due to liquidity concerns,
Who had concerns when he saw the buyback guarantee clauses,
Who actually thinks the Tesla play is an energy storage play,
And if Tesla gets past their squeeze,
And energy storage prices continue to drop,
This fool will buy in,
Because the TAM in the energy market is large enough that multibaggers are still in the future,
But for now Tesla is like a biotech play.
The other problem with Tesla is that their cars accelerate so fast that the g-forces drag all the blood from your brain so you can’t make a sound investment decision about it.

Hi Ed,
Yes it’s funny, but we are trying hard, by popular demand, to not clutter up the board with posts that are not related to what the board is for.
Thanks for your future cooperation,
Saul
