INMD

Amazing/glad that there is now much interest in INMD.
I bought some INMD, three times…It has gone up…then back down. My first purchase, was on
Oct 24, 2019, after much publicity in IBD.

GLAD WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST 2020 STOCK!!!..I AM STILL THINKING of DOGG…bought some as soon as it opened…a month before buying INMD. Maybe too soon.

STJ,
Can you think of a single word or thought in this post that is of any use to anyone else, or that adds any value to the board? Please think before you post.

This is what happens when Yahoo Finance posters stumble across this board.
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Just by the by then I am competing in annual returns with a friend of mine who has type 1 diabetes and she has only invested in diabetes treatment stocks.
They vary between high and low growth but all seem to provide a solution to DB1 which can be sort of fudged into a recurring revenue stream.

It’s not an area I’m familiar with but her returns will probably beat my 70% this year, as long as PODD (Insulet Corp) doesn’t crash between now and the end of the year.

Does anyone want me to post a shallow dive into her stocks?

I’m not a number cruncher but I could do a reasonable job given time.

Cheers, PB.

Hi PB, will take you up on your offer to deep dive on diabetes stocks…

I have been in and out of TNDM this year with not much success.
However, as a result, have done some study on PODD, DXCM and others. PODD and TNDM have had fantastic year this year… i just have been late to the party…

On a personal level, One of my friend’s son unfortunately died this year due to type1 diabetes out of control…

All in all, I agree, this is a market in secular growth… and need for products like PODD, TNDM, DXCM…

Question in my head is, where can they go from here…
One major source of growth for TNDM (and I would think for PODD as well) last two years has been J&J’s stepping out of the market creating market share grab for these two companies (specially TNDM)… but this is one time event and revenue growth going forward should be back to natural market growth… (which I remember right, is in low teens but nowhere near what TNDM delivered in last few quarters).

BTW - healthcare and biotech in general has had much better Q4 than SAAS stocks… and with health care being one of punching bag for politicians, I wonder if it is a good time to stay on side line till elections…

your insight is appreciated.

I would also be interested in any other’s views on the diabetes stocks, as I still hold a mid-sized position in TNDM and continue to add to it when prices are in the high $50’s to low $60’s.

I haven’t had a chance to do my usual (shallow ) dive on the last TNDM earnings call because of work responsibilities, but I will be able to get to it in the new year as I’ll be retired in 2 days!

Their growth rate came down quite a bit (IIRC) from 185% YOY in the previous Q, to 105% YOY last quarter, with the explanation that a lot of folks were waiting on FDA approval of their new system before pulling the trigger. Management said there was pent up demand because of this, and that they were at least 6 months ahead of their competitors so have a bit of a head start. That FDA approval finally came about a week or two ago, so since right at the end of the quarter, not sure how much of an effect it will have on this Q’s results, but can’t wait to hear on their next release.

I just chatted with her and because she was losing against me then she started to use trailing stops which has effed up her returns significantly.
I did warn her not to do that but she did it anyway, which is sad.
If you’re asking me to do a deep dive into PODD and TNDM then I’m going to have to disappoint you for two reasons:
Reason 1: I’m flying back to the UK for new years and will be too busy.
Reason 2: I only ever promised a shallow dive since wading through 10-K reports is an insomniacs daydream.
Cheers, PB.
