This has been pretty observable for hundreds of years. At least since people have able to live into advanced age on a regular basis. Did they really need a study to “prove” it?
What was not known was why/how those changes occur. That they occur was known. Now they know it happens to everyone at about the same age, so what happens is not limited to one sex.
I think it’d be pretty remarkable if there were absolutely no data available on causation…given the vast amount of study that has gone into this topic.
Not to sound glib but the “causation” is “Nothing lives forever.” Given the absence of disease, stress, injury, lack of nutrition, and other environmental impositions, ya die anyway.
True…but in the context of the study quoted, irrelevant. Of course, whether you’re dead or alive is important but the topic is how you’re fairing whilst you are stiill alive. Your healthspan, in fact…vs lifespan.
My podcast listening during this morning’s Z2 training was a recent Attia offering on just this topic. Hopefully available in full for anyone interested…
