Luv it… owned the album this song was on, many moons ago!
LOL! I’ve never seen that picture.
AC hilarious
Yea, the PIC got me too. I heard this as a pre-teen and my imignation was quite active then. That image is not what I expected, but it fits the song well…
Saw Johnny live, over at the Dream Bowl, a huge dance hall between Napa & Vallejo, CA. At the time we had Mare Island Naval Base, Hamilton Air Force Base, Two Rock Army Base as well as the SF Bay Area, to draw from. But, a ton of off Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force guys, gals having a blast. MP’s & AP’s were paired up, patrolling, breaking up fights in the gravel parking lot… I think it was $5 to get in, a pretty crazy time, must have been early '60s… Crazy times, fun times… That dance hall is long gone, almost all the Bases closed, Two Rock is now a Coast Guard Cooks & Stewards School, a friend’s daughter runs the PX… Times change…
Thx PL. At first I thought it was the song “A boy named Sue”, but then I kept listening to it. What a hoot!
OH… you’ve never heard this song? Well, here’s one of Johnnys better/funnier songs. Like with “Sue”, he did have a sense of humor…
Here’s the version I first heard… on reel-to-reel, early 70’s. Not cut for language! …it’s all there!
