The post that was removed mentioned no political party, nor named any politician. It focused solely on the bipartisan culture of corruption in Washington and how big money from both corporate and foreign interests were attempting to preserve the status quo.
I closed by mentioning that favorable events emerging from Michigan on Tuesday evening, with an apparent victor who was outspent 9 to 1 in the race, represented a rebirth for our nation and a return to using science and arithmetic to inform policymaking.
I guess politics is in the eye of the beholder and why our nation is destined to continue circling the drain.
{{ Yes, that’s politics. It’s a political post, talking about political issues. }}
Yet, it’s at the heart of our macroeconomic woes. Of course, if you support the status quo and crony capitalism, I can see how it’s “politics”. {{ LOL }}
I think this misunderstands what (I believe) is the basis for the no politics on METAR rule.
It’s not that politics don’t have a macroeconomic consequence. Rather, it’s that threads that talk about politics invariably end up being mostly about things unrelated to macroeconomics. That’s why political threads get pulled. Not because there’s no macroeconomic impact of politics, but because discussions of politics derails the board.
