KIA New EV Van to Hit in Canada

Kia announced that prices for the PV5 will start at CAD 46,995 ($33,099) in Canada when it goes on sale in Q4 2026. All trims also qualify for the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, offering up to CAD 5,000 toward the purchase.

233 miles of range. Competitive pricing compared to ICE minivans.

It’s the same problem I had with the VW ID.Buzz - too little range. With my 313-mile Acura ZDX I can barely make a round-trip to the in-laws in rural Texas due to where the limited charging options are. Part of the problem is rural Texas, of course…

The article calls it a people mover, but I only saw the two front seats, which matches the lack of windows, not even a rear window, behind the front. This is a cargo hauler, perhaps a delivery van or a workman’s tool and parts carrier. That market has a LOT of vehicles that stay local, and return to HQ overnight. That is a good niche to target, IMHO.
