Used Schwab’s scanner to find and export 848 stocks priced between 6 bits and $3 bucks w/ avg vol >50k. [That took a couple of minutes.] Pulled 4 months of EOD data for them from Yahoo. [Maybe 3 minutes more.] Then ran 'em through my scanner which picked out 74 possible ‘buy’ signals. [11 seconds.] Then hand charted them at BC. [Another 5 minutes.] Result? 48 --or just 5.6% of the original list-- worth a more careful look, but probably only six or so that are confirmed enough to make a bet on. The rest would need another day of watching, and some are downright questionable, like CIDM. But I like HYZN, MESO, KPLY, NRDY, OPAD, PBLA, QSI, SIEN, SNAX, SPIR, TRUE.
This run-through suggests that sifting through a couple thousand stocks on a nightly basis is doable. Even better, it suggests that “trading the pennies” on a purely technical basis --many of which are biotechs-- is doable. Here’s the list. Do your Due Diligence.
