Looking for a Decent Site for Doing Fundamentalist Style Investing?

Stocks can be traded purely on the basis of their price action as is revealed in a Price-Volume chart (with or without the eye candy of indicators). But the killer combo, as Technical Analyst, John Murphy, argues is FA + TA which he calls, RA (Rational Analysis).

There are some free websites that run fundamentalist checklists on stocks, estimating things like intrinsic value, etc. such as WallStreetZen. But the best and easiest to use is SimplyWallStreet. Not cheap at $20/month. But if you’re trying to vet dozens of stocks at a time, day after day, then $20 is a bargain.

Right now, it might be possible to wrangle a lower rate from them and to get the same 52% discount I was offered and accepted. (I had let my subscription expire for really wanting to drop stock investing in favor of doing more worthwhile things. But I keep letting myself get suck back into the game, and $10 bucks a month is a cheap price for entertainment.)

Give me a day or two, and I’ll do some RA on the 50 stocks in the IBD index.

This is the IBD approach. FA first and foremost, then “Buy right” with TA. But IBD is too pricey for most.

Pete,

The method (FA +TA) isn’t too pricey. Access to the method costs no more than a walk to the local library where dozens of books, explaining dozens of viable investing/trading methods, can be found. What IS pricey is the time/effort it takes to learn some of those methods well enough to actually make money from using them.
