Meanwhile Israel & Turkey Face Off in Syria

Turkey scoped out at least three air bases in Syria where it could deploy forces as part of a planned joint defence pact before Israel hit the sites with air strikes this week, four people familiar with the matter said.

The bombardment signals the risks of a deepening rift between two powerful regional militaries over Syria, where Islamist rebels have installed a new government after toppling former leader Bashar al-Assad in December.

Ankara, a longtime backer of opposition to Assad, is positioning to play a major role in the remade Syria, including with a possible joint defence pact that could see new Turkish bases in central Syria and use of Syria’s airspace.

Obviously this interferes with the Greater Israel agenda.

The airbases, which had been under the control of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, are now reportedly being eyed by Turkey for expanded use and the deployment of air defense systems.

Turkey has signaled growing ambitions in Syria. Reports from Middle East Eye indicate that Turkish forces have begun moves to take control of the T-4 base and are planning to install air defense systems there. Since the fall of Assad in December, Ankara has accelerated negotiations with Syria’s interim government over a potential defense pact.

Back off Erdoğan!

This potential conflict might be an Erdoğan distraction to deflect Turks from his arrest of popular opponent.

Didn’t someone here predict that, a while back?

Neo-Ottoman agenda?

An Empire by any other name would be as sweet! :crescent_moon:

Sure - everyone knew that Turkey was going to try to take a chunk out of Syria to address their Kurdish “problem.”

I do recall someone predicting that Turkey was going to try to re-create the geographic extent of the Ottoman empire by absorbing all of the countries that were formed out of that territory - the entirety of Syria, and other nations like Lebanon and Israel to boot. But that’s not this.

So does a journey of ten feet. So one should be cautious about predicting the length of the intended journey when someone takes a single step.

The greater Turkey agenda won’t be Jewish. Good for you. Meanwhile, the Turks will hunt the Kurds. Good for you.

Do you know what you are talking about?

A thought experiment bear with me.

Israel is all Muslim.
Gaza is Muslim.

Which side do you take?

There are 53k dead. Which side?

Now Sudan, Syria, and Yemen all have over 1 million dead in each country. Which side do you take?

You really have incredible morals?
