When I previously commented on Hafnia Tankers (HAFN), I didn’t have great fleet data. That appears to have changed somewhat. There is some fleet data, but too messy to parse into HAFN owned fleet data
That’s over 200 vessels.
- That’s more than their owned (117) and charter-in (14).
- Excluding 2009-builds (which may or may not have crossed the 15-yo threshold), there are over 35 vessels built 2008-or-prior.
- 13 LR2s listed, The vessels range from 2012 - 2024. One can at least say, HAFN’s oldest LR2 is, at worst, a 2012 build.
- Ah! just a guess - 13 data points makes it easier. Their owned vessels include “Hafnia” or “BW” in the name
- 31 LR1s with “Hafnia” in the name - that’s the likely key for owned
- If that’s accurate, definitely better data to work with. Though 117 vessels across a multi-year spectrum is definitely a challenge.
- From their Q1 earnings report, the pool & bunker revenue is negligible when compared to HAFN’s TCE revenue.
Need to dig a little more. HAFN is currently just a small stake.
[Edit: The naming plan did not materialize with MR2s. I will have to dig deeper there. But, so far, with the 10 LR2s and 35 LR1s, only three older LR1s appear to be owned by Hafnia. That’s a plus for HAFN fleet valuation and fleet size on the LR side of the house]
