Not shocking at all, just educational. Their approach is truly “first principles.” Apart from the brain, it’s the hands with opposable thumbs that truly distinguish humans from the other great apes. Tools, like flint knives, are extensions of the human hand. Sanctuary aims to make the robots with truly human hands. Tesla can pick up some pointers!

Just FYI.
There are unsubstantiated rumors that BYD is using products from the humanoid robot manufacturer UBTech Robotics. BYD may be using products from humanoid robot maker UBTech in its production lines, report says - CnEVPost)
There are also pictures of actual UBTech humanoid robots doing some stuff on Nio production line. Nio testing use of humanoid robots on factory production line - CnEVPost
