Good evening to everyone out here that I’ve crossed paths with during my 25 years with MF! I no longer have access to the private boards but am still interested in contributing for those who used to follow my Financial Data and Value Points posts. I’d also like to be able to contribute to Saul’s discussions but I think I need to be allowed access somehow. Anyone have any thoughts on either of those points?
Thanks.
If you have trouble getting on Saul’s board, or while you wait, there are quite a few other investment boards that would be delighted to have your input. Liquid Lounge and New Paradigm Investing come to mind, but there are other.
Low participation is a problem with many of the investment boards. Those that attract a regular following are most interesting.
Sauls board and the Metar board get the most attention. Others are available is someone has subjects to discuss.
From the old boards we do know how to promote a new board. Usually you post notices on other active boards to let others know a board is active with something of interest.
Low participation is one of the problems with the new boards. Berkshire Hathaway board used to be a excellent value investment board. Many posters dropped out and didn’t make the move. Do we have any value boards now?
Which they apparently don’t actually review or approve. I’ve been here 20+ years, and occasionally posted on Saul’s old board. I submitted a request several months back, and never heard a peep…
They review the requests about once per week, it’s possible yours just got misplaced the first time….there are a lot of requests to sort through. They’ve probably added 200 posters since the board went live on this platform 2 years ago.
I put in a request about a year ago as well as in the last couple of weeks and heard nothing so I figured it was a dead end. I was a regular poster on the private boards and had a great following as my contributions were tutorials, scenarios and info difficult to find within the Fool anywhere. I think those days are done as my XMF status has relegated me to the sidelines after 25 years of what I thought was a positive experience. Unfortunately, when I returned home from holidays and started updating the companies I follow, I was unable to post as my access was cut off. It would have been really nice to be notified of the status change so I could post one last tidbit to say goodbye to the many friends I’d made over my tenure.
The Fool has changed and the idea of a ‘community’ is much less of what it originally was, especially since the boards were updated to this new format. They took a while to get accustomed to but many of the regulars with a great deal of experience and knowledge either stopped contributing or left the Fool.
As I’m unable to access the private boards could you please post something on the SA and premium community boards to say goodbye to the wonderful people I’ve met over the past 25 years! When my wife passed away at Christmas in 2010 the community support I received was amazing and so welcomed by someone in a very lonely situation.
