It would be helpful to have guidelines on when exactly a topic becomes political.
Actions by Congress or govt do impact economics. it should be possible to discuss those topics in the abstract. I think they become political when they name (or blame) political parties or politicians. Otherwise should be ok.
@pauleckler it was easier in “the old days” when politicians didn’t meddle directly in the economy.
Now it’s on topic when a politician impacts our investments or the economy. It’s off-topic when the post tosses around slander with no economic impact.
Also, discussions of economic policies in Congress are off-topic until a bill is actually signed into law. Since most Congressional debates never become law it’s a waste of time and a distraction.
What we are trying to avoid is pointless sniping at each other that doesn’t impact our invesetments.
