I didn’t hear any mention of him facing bankruptcy or being in any kind of financial trouble. Where did they say that? They mentioned he has $500 thou raised and needs $2.5 mil total. He could be grifting. Remember that olympic gymnast with the 7 million dollar house who got Covid or something and poor-mouthed herself on Go-Fund-Me 'cause… …why should I have to pay for it?
Wouldn’t he be able to sign up for an ACA policy now? That was the whole point of the thing. No “pre-existng conditions.” He might actually have one now. Maybe the Go-Fund-Me is just a neat business idea he had…?

It depends. Most insurers only pay for rehabilitation as long as you’re showing signs of improvement. Once they decide you’re as good as you’re going to get, they drop you and send you to a nursing home on your dime or Medicaid’s
United Healthcare is particularly aggressive in pushing people out of rehab to boost their profits.
