NTNX Takeaways From GOOGL's Conf Call

Hey everyone. About 3/4 of the way down this page (during Q&A), Google was asked about an on-premise cloud strategy similar to Microsoft and Amazon and if “there’s a requirement for you to also have an on-premise strategy to solve this hybrid world…”

Sundar Pichai – Chief Executive Officer said this

“We are thoughtfully looking at it. I mean we are increasingly working with partners like for example our partnership from SAP or Pivotal, VMware; these are all on hybrid cloud solutions.”

So they are thoughtfully looking at it and mention they are increasingly working with partners…but they don’t mention Nutanix. Is this potentially a good thing? As in, they’re currently in the works of some type of larger partnership agreement with Nutanix so they are keeping quiet about it…or is it bad that Nutanix wasn’t top of mind?

"And there are many, many situations we are in where on-prem is a big requirement for customers, but with our partnership approach we’ve been able to address the needs well. So, I don’t see that as a gating "

I see this as a good thing for HCI and specifically companies like Nutanix with hybrid cloud OSs (XI/Acropolis)…and it seems like they aren’t planning to move away from the partnership approach, but again, I wonder who their most valued partner is in this?
