NY lowers proficiency scores

Extending a decades long trend in Shiny education. I have mentioned before that an aunt of mine was a teacher, from the late 40s through the early 80s. She commented often on the blowback she had to endure from irate parents when she gave their spawn a less than stellar grade.

Of course, the decline in proficiency of High School graduates produced the push for “Common Core” minimum proficiency standards, which were quickly demonized by certain factions in the US.
