DHT place order for 4 newbuild VLCCs. Company also has an option on 4 more VLCCs

The last time I recall VLCCs newbuild priced above $127M was back in 2007 when FRO ordered a handful of VLCCs from a Chinese yard. The vessels never delivered, and FRO was supposed to recoup the deposit (plus interest) for the newbuilds. The rights were transferred to the other Frontline entity (Frontline 2012) who eventually recouped the deposits.
DHT’s fleet consists of 24 VLCCs currently, including 4 VLCCs older than 16 years old. At the very least, the order is a replacement order, and will rejuvenate the fleet
