You do realize the irony of that song in this time period, yes? “They’re coming to America!”. Except the present administration is actively trying to prevent that. And “Freedom’s light burning warm” doesn’t seem to apply to everyone today.
Great song, though. If we ever get past the current phase we’re in, we should make it our national anthem. “Star Spangled Banner” has always sucked, IMO. Turns out it was originally a tavern/bawdy song that someone adapted to a poem by Key. If I’m remembering my history correctly.
