OT......on generative AI detection

Specifically, can ChatGPT generated documents be detected? That’s my question…..and the very prompt I typed into Google. The AI overview assured me that they can (as I sort of knew from my efforts with the family albatross’s bamboozle with the DV evaluation) I still don’t have enough of a grasp of the technology to know whether to accept what the AI overview is telling me without reservation. Is there any human insight on the board to shed more light on the topic (can’t get the AI overview to link with sources)

It’s hard to fathom, but this Lump of Foul Deformity that hitched his caboose to my daughter’s gravy train years ago, is still creating mayhem and legal costs. Daughter has discovered how well ChatGPT analyzes his rants for malicious intent …..and his lawyer’s similar communications with her lawyer…..and distilled her responses in a way that avoids their efforts to trigger intemperate responses etc.

I read them over before the lawyer gets to grips with them……removing the giveaways of too many Oxford commas, overly fancy vocabulary and perfect grammar (how I spotted the wankspangle’s bamboozle) …. but wonder if detection programmes really can pick up on it per AI overview. The image of dueling ChatGPT is somewhat humorous at 2 am on a sleepless night

Here’s a reminder of my first rodeo on this topic…..

This is an issue that I surely hope is OT for any readers…..whether for themselves, their children or other family members. A couple of pieces of advice: planning before the divorce should be an even higher priority than planning the wedding was. Better yet…..a background check before that event will preempt a good many nasty surprises!

I’ve seen claims that the blockchain can be used to authenticate human and AI generated content. Many here have more experience with blockchain than I. What say you?

Unlike the closed “content authenticity” tools created by the likes of Meta and Google, blockchain technology creates a public, tamper-proof record – a permanent tracker that can be attached to any piece of content the moment it’s made. Think of it as a digital birth certificate: it records the creator of the file, the date it was created, any changes made and any transaction of ownership, all on a decentralized ledger that no nefarious party can alter.

Thank you, @spinning . I appreciatethe response. Interesting developments for sure…..I think. A bit more global (and upscale) than I think my needs are. Although my primary interest is a very focused area…..as common as it is becoming, apparently …..it’s almost a proxy for misuse of a technology that can have a negative impact on all our lives.

During the months that followed daughter’s divorce (when the dodgy DV evaluation didn’t play a part) I started to investigate if and how AI could be used this way……primarily because there was no definitive ruling on its bogus nature. Couldn’t find a thing on AI gaming these evaluations except my own post on this board, but in true fashion when you’re casting your net wide, it turned out that it’s been a problem in the courts for a while…..multiple examples of lawyers being bamboozled by fake cases cited as precedents and one of an English barrister using AI to generate her own!! That one was discovered by my method…..a human read it through and caught a whiff of fish because of incongruous phrases and “Americanized” spelling. Presumably spell checked….but not proof read/thought about (think “bovine implants”)

Since I didn’t go out yesterday because of the frigid temperatures (I bet an AI overview would have plenty to say on cold temperatures and cardiac issues), I whiled away a bit of time on YouTube videos. Plenty around, apparently…. including on managing tricky, high conflict ex family members. This one is about my style….chosen for the timestamp breakdown etc…
