PFIE

Yes, we discussed this a bunch recently. However, with the big downward move today, I desire to reiterate.

In a quick researching, I find no new news for the past two weeks; nothing positive or negative. We all acknowledge how small PFIE is and its being subject to big swings. I can’t help but think the short article is having additional affect. Based on our community research and discussion, I believe they are a solid company with pertinent product and have good things ahead of them. Candidly, this 52-week low on this particular small-cap has me torn. With my invested capital exposure being limited and reasonable, I think of adding more and gaining more while at the same time thinking of cutting losses and preserving what I have.

Any others here with fresh thoughts or analysis?

Hi KL, I agree. It seems to me that what we are seeing is a combination of newly falling oil prices, the effects of the short article, and a very small cap stock.

I wouldn’t add more at this point. If the stock goes up, you’ll do great with what you have, but if (unlikely) there turns out to be hanky panky and the stock collapses you won’t be throwing good money after bad. I certainly wouldn’t be selling here either. Just waiting for the next earnings report and rising revenue with all the new sales people they’ve been hiring, which should raise the stock price considerably and maybe even cause a short squeeze if the shorts haven’t gotten out already.

Only this…

I wouldn’t want to be a salesman of any type walking into an oil company’s office these days and even more so if I was a newbie doing cold calls.

Very, very hard for me to imagine that expanding their sales force in this environment will pay dividends anytime soon.

Oil is down to around $67 today. Lowest since 2009. PFIE management said on the last conference call that in the past they have not seen any correlation between oil price and PFIE sales. PFIE has been in business for 13 years so there have been past periods where oil prices have gone up or down.

We will find out after their next earnings report whether there is any change in their sales this quarter. For now, I will believe management and continue to hold my shares.

Try $63 and that is before basis differentials.
