Depending on health and other factors I wouldn’t be opposed to living overseas for a semi-extended period of time. Germany has a general temporary residence permit if you want to stay past the 90 day limit. Has anyone here ever applied for one? (My interest would only be in Western Europe and that is mostly the EU.)
Unlike others I’m not looking to gain citizenship or even want a permanent residency status but instead just something more than 90 days per 180 days. Also we wouldn’t be looking for employment there since we’d be retired with our own source of income.
My initial thought is that it shouldn’t be hard to do but I’m guessing it is, and they are afraid people will abuse it and end up living there too long?
