… apparently the problem is that his mother is Canadian and his US born father worked in Canada. There is some rule that the father needed to be resident in the US for the 10 year period before the guy was born. So Social Security is telling him he’s not a citizen.
This sounds like Steve’s concern

I wonder if that period would include the 4 years my father spent in the Pacific? Otherwise I might be in trouble!!!

Same issue here. Dad was participating in the dust-up in France and Germany in 44-45. Of course, mom was working in Kalamazoo then. And I have US birth certificates for both, so don’t have the divided parentage issue this guy has. But, if the objective is to cheat Proles out of benefits they paid for, that still might not be enough.
