Looks like Lisa cook is fired. So this is not about getting one more Fed vote, it is about taking over the Fed. Democrats were stupid and watched SCOTUS take over and that directly resulted in long standing Roe v Wade turned over and other far reaching judgements that has strengthened the current administration actions. So there will be consequences of Fed takeover.

Just to spell it out… Trump is checking how market reacts to this… also preparing the market when he is going to eventually fire Jay Powell. That is coming.
