Stopped by a White Castle today to try their sliders. They had large robot doing french fries. Had read about those robots but never seen one before. Was large and behind glass. Looks like they are real. And an answer to manpower shortages.
They said it works most of the time.
When it doesn’t, you get a marmite and chips sandwich.

Worth mentioning that it looks nothing like a human. Doesn’t need to. “Flippy” manages everything with a large articulated arm, similar to those found in auto production lines.
Flippy is made by Misorobotics in Pasadena, CA. Looks like they are a start-up.
