Shoot well I wonder if AMBA is going to raise the portfolios GPA. It can’t get much worse!

IBD ratings as of 6/22/15 paper. Started with UA, FB, SWKS but decided
to add some of Sauls and my CYBR (could not find FB in the paper due to
the non-alphabetical ordering). I will look for the full Saul list and
update it someday, but I am lazier than I should be and it might be
infrequent. (should not be a lot of change)

last q EPS +85%
Net Q EPS +54%

P.S. How do you do a post with just some formatted as a table? I saw the trick once but now forgot it.

How do you do a post with just some formatted as a table?

< pre > before
< /pre > after

without the spaces. pre = preformatted, i.e., leave it along and don’t mess with it. It would be nice if TMF put this and < i > and < b > as hints to the right of the reply box.

does anybody have some hard numbers for the value of IBD rankings? Do highly IBD ranked stocks outperform, to what extent and and over what time periods? Since IBD has a large circulation to avoid self fulfilling prophecy effect, the start date for these stats should be several days after any upgrade is published.

a couple of somewhat contradictory links on this

“When searching for a top stock, earnings growth should always play an important role in the decision-making process. Specifically, look for companies showing robust quarterly increases in earnings and sales growth. It’s even better when growth is accelerating.”?I can’t completely dismiss IBD and its stock-picking. Its “IBD 100” list has performed quite well, trouncing the S&P 500 both in the past year and since its inception.

and a shorter term look

When it comes to individual stocks I would expect any similar simple widely available screening to be quickly arbitraged away.

You mean

 and
don't you? ;)

And you left out
and

which gets you Monospace type but with all the same formatting as the regular Fool posting type, like auto line wrap, etc. I like to use it for quoting directly from someplace else, it sets off the type so the reader knows it's a quote. You can even combine them with **boldface** or *italicface* or _**even both**_

With the

(cap or lower case, doesn’t matter) you have to insert your own carriage return. With you don’t. Somebody told me that the ‘tt’ stands for “typewriter type.” I don’t know if that’s true, but it makes it easy to remember.

For tables, PRE is indicated because one is going to be inserting spaces and returns to accomplish the desired line up. Monospace goes along with that because it would be very difficult to do otherwise. I see no particular virtue in monospace otherwise as it is harder to read. Italics works fine for quotes and is more standard.

The tt choice seems to be undocumented, as I always thought this was the official Fool reference:
