I suppose there could be some newbuild ordering this past week. But, I’m not really focused on that side of the sector. No, this week it is tanker rates and I turn to Affinity Shipping as their report usually has good number of routes covered. Definitely, a good dirty tanker week. 8 of 9 routes stronger/firmer this week, including a whopping $82,000+ on not one, but two, VLCC routes. For their respective vessel sizes, other rates are not too shabby. On the clean side, the larger capacity routes (likely LR2/LR3) are pretty decent. Overall, more weaker clean routes this week.
