Shipping broker reports ending 07/11/25

Using shipping broker Affinity again for the various route activity this week

  • In the prior week, all 19 routes were softer from the week preceding it. A change this week.
  • The three VLCC routes all improved this week. Similar to last week, VLCC owners are covering operational costs. Depending on leverage, some owners might not be covering full cost of vessel on the benchmark route TD3. Technically, TD3C is a slight variant of the benchmark.
  • Other dirty vessel category owners probably generating decent returns.
  • On the clean tanker routes, improvement on about half the routes,
  • The TC2 and TC6 routes still look horrible.
  • It did occur to me today, the TC2 might just serve as a back-haul journey. The primary motive might be to get to the US gulf and then complete a TC14 or TC21

I guess, this week, I will add the transactional side from Advanced Shipping & Trading

  • About 12 bulker transactions
  • Sinokor seems somewhat on both the newbuild market and in the sale of a Cape vessel.

Are we done with the extra drama of tariffs? Probably not.
