In another thread, I used broker Carriers report for 04/12/25. The company usually reports at the beginning of the week. OTOH, Advanced Shipping & Trading reports at the end of the week. Some very different stats, in particular, on newbuilds. Also, different in 2nd hand sales
Vessel sales: 13 bulkers, 10 tankers, 4 container
Newbuilds: 2 bulker, 15 - 17 tanker, 25 container vessels, 1 gas
Two major points on the newbuilds
- 39 vessels from non-Chinese yards, 2 vessels from Chinese yards
- Our Greek ship-owning friends, Capital Maritime, are quite busy ordering 2 VLCCs & 20 container vessels of various sizes ( over $1.8B in vessel orders in one week) [private joke: No Robin Hood in this Nottingham Forest
