So it looks like the real issue is that some chips may have been marked with the wrong model number, and possibly the boxes holding the chips as well.
I’d much rather have this than, say, chips suffering permanent performance degradation after being used as directed, having to tapdance around replacements vs. recalls etc. – it’s a mess over at Intel, no? (Wondering if any of their recent travails affect server parts.)
