This seems like a great idea to me. Many businesses will thrive by having both an online and physical presence. If Shopify can provide elite education, consulting and the article even mentions sell physical products, they are likely to tighten their relationship with customers and up revenue on each. Will be interesting to see if this first store is successful. I know that retail is not fast enough for this board, but this “omni” channel approach by companies like Duluth Trading, from a business standpoint, seems right.
Having been in retail for many years, I think this is a brilliant idea. Fantastic PR to start with, not to mention the add-ons plus up-selling. The mind boggles, as I now wonder what Cook was really doing when he met with Lutke!!!
Just wondering if SHOP wil use SQ for POS and back office.
