Apparently in Canada seniors have all the money.
I’m not convinced there aren’t a lot of poor seniors living month to month on their CPP just like here.
But it is an interesting take on the principle of discounts for seniors.
Probably the same in the US. We boomers were the last ones to enjoy a heavily subsidized college education. Some of us geezers worked for companies that still had company paid pension and retiree medical benefits. And we have been receiving full scheduled benefits from SS and Medicare. All those advantages are being taken away from the younger generations, so the loot can be handed to the “JCs” instead.
A second thought, remember Tim talking about all the benefits he is pocketing? A pension for being retired career military. And extra for partial hearing loss, due to small arms fire for two hitches, followed by years of sitting next to a howling transmission in a Sea King. And another handout for being old.
This is a different issue. This post, and the article, is discussing discounts given to seniors. It doesn’t mention any government discounts, but rather entertainment (concerts, etc) discounts, and retail (Shoppers Drug Mart, etc) discounts.
