Slate EV Truck Ordering Opens

**NO FRILLS, EXCEPT

THE ONES YOU WANT.**

Equipped with the essentials for $24,950.* No sneaky trim packages or dealer add-ons. Just 200+ a la carte accessories you can add whenever you want.

200 mile range. I’m liking it. Though I just rented a Toyota C-HR plugin hybrid in the UK. It was great. That drivetrain in a truck package would be the sweet spot for me.

That makes a lot of sense. People usually use pickup trucks for local hauling and not for cross-country trips. (Except for hauling RVs but that’s a different niche.) So distance limitations would be less important.

And I really, really like the approach of a “blank slate” vehicle.

Slate has officially announced the price of its first electric pickup truck at the company’s new design center in Gardena, California. It is indeed $24,950, as previously rumored after a leak. However, this price doesn’t include the destination and delivery fee that’s baked into the cost of every new vehicle because it has not yet been finalized. Still, we’re told the destination charge will be minimal, in keeping with the overall low price of what the startup brand is calling its “Blank Slate” pickup.

Perhaps one could avoid that charge by picking up the vehicle at the factory?

That would be nice. I think the factory is less than a full charge away from me.

I ordered one. Delivery April-ish 2027.

WOW. I understand today was the first day orders were accepted and that the first truck rolls off the line winter of 2026. So there is some demand for the truck. The production facility has an estimated 150,000 production capacity. It will be interesting if they sell out the first year production.

Nice! Keep us updated, will you? I don’t need one of these, but I definitely want one.

Will do. I don’t need one, either.
