What do you think China will do to Tesla if tariff’s are enacted? With Musk being so connected to the White House do you think China will put Tariff’s on Tesla or leave them alone?
I thought $TSLA is manufacturing in China and not importing from US?
Tesla cars sold in China are made in China are largely from domestic (Chinese) sources. I can’t provide a reliable source, but google turned up the claim: 90% of China Tesla cars parts are made in China, it was the agreement made when Tesla built the Chinese giga factory, a gradual move from 50% to 90% now.
So there wouldn’t be much point in China having import tariffs that impact Tesla. For China to impose export tariffs would make even less sense. Tesla exports cars made in China, but not to the US.
Didn’t the Chinese go after Apple last time?
I am not sure that it matters that tesla makes the car in China, it’s about his relationship to the White house.
Unless the Chinese wanted to get back at the President. Why would they care if Tesla collapses? They have enough car makers now.
On another note. Look at Pi. If it holds the 200 day it could be interesting. Beat and raise last earnings.
Originally Tesla was supplying Europe from China. Now probably supplied to Europe from Berlin. Are all models made at all plants? Or do they transship some?
Are parts for assembly plants US and Germany made in China?
