Tariff Policy as it relates to American Consumers

If the American consumer does not bear the brunt of paying
higher prices due to tariffs, why is Trump and his admin so adamantly opposed to the thought that Amazon would display the extra cost due to tariffs ? Trump admin vehemently states, over and over, that the cost will be borne by foreign Countries. It’s almost like Trump admin is not being truthful about the repercussions of the Trump tariffs.
Who’d a thunk that ??? lol

Why Is Amazon Not Supposed to Highlight the Benefits of the Trump Tariffs?

“Press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the plan a “hostile and political act” by Amazon, which seems a bit odd since one administration official after another, from Donald Trump on down, has praised the tariffs as a massive win for Americans and no big deal for consumers, so how could it possibly be a problem for businesses to highlight them?”

Typical “JC”. I have told the story before how, after Bernie slapped down the suggestion RS product was overpriced at the annual meeting, my DM was calling store managers and asking “do you think our stuff is worth the price?”. If you wanted to keep your job, you toed the company line, and gave full throated support for RS’ prices, even though they were 40% higher than Best Buy, for the same stuff, with an RS badge pasted on it.
