Terrorist attack in Moscow

Just because Putin is a war criminal terrorist is not a good excuse to kill Russian civilians. They could have killed a Tolstoy, a Tchaikovsky, or a Solzhenitsyn. Go after the criminal master mind like Obama took out Bin Laden, Trump took our an Iranian general, and Golda Meir took out the Munich terrorists.

Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir was enraged. She authorized Israeli assassination squads to take out those involved in planning the Munich attack. Operation Wrath of God lasted some 20 years.

Accounts vary on how many people directly connected to the attack were killed by Israel. In one infamous case, agents killed a waiter in Norway whom they mistook for a PLO official.

50 years ago, Munich Olympics massacre changed how we think about terrorism : NPR.

The fire bombing of Dresden and Hamburg and the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are more excusable than deliberate terrorist attacks rewarded by 72 virgins. Many men have difficulty in managing a single nymphomaniac.

I can not make sense that response.

Whatever

I do not see Russian civilians as innocent.

I do see Ukrainian civilians as innocent.

I’m not sure it’s that cut and dry.

Imagine living in a dictatorship run by a cruel sociopath who only cares about themself. A dictator who murders innocent people without batting an eyelash. A dictator that controls all information, the courts, the military, police, jails, economy, and on and on.

Would you stand up to a dictator that would imprison you for decades unless you (and your family) “committed suicide” first?

The best way to stand up to dictator is to keep them from power in the first place.

I agree talk is cheap. Told my mother decades ago with women that is why I use it.

I agree with your summary.

But the game is up. Turns out ISIS is coming after all of us.

We are not human. I am not talking just Jews. All of us are not human. It is not just ISIS that wants to believe that.

So you guys who want peace through negotiations get on the phone and good luck.

You can throw in the towel any time. That does not for one moment mean you will get peace.

You can throw Israel under the bus. That does not mean everyone will see you as human at all. It does not mean you will get peace at all.

Make sure your kids or grandkids are enlisted. Or get on the stick.

Paraphrasing Mike Tyson, everyone has a plan for Gaza till the bombs go off in their country’s capital.

That’s a great 2024 GOTV message.

I’m pretty sure that’s the same reasoning all terrorists use when they target civilians.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

Looks like Putin had to change his tune, now admitting it was Islamists behind the attack (while still hinting a Ukraine link).

Pretty damning that something on this scale can happen given his rather sizable security aparatus - cracks in the facade?

I think you are conflating terrorists, like ISIS and Hamas, with Palestinian civilians.

Sure, but neither are civilians.

Not according to Hamas.

Bottom line how many times do you want this exact war to repeat itself? There needs to be a resolution this time.

Palestinians in the West Bank are under attack and are having their land seized. To pretend like one side is the only side targeting civilians is not productive.

I am not pretending innocent civilians are not in harm’s way. All of them are in harm’s way.

The problem does this war get resolved now or is it fought all over again next year? How many times do you want to stop and go?

Hamas could surrender and negotiate at any time. Israel can not.

I’m not hopeful this conflict will ever end, given the conditions. Even if every last Hamas fighter were taken out tomorrow, the next generation of fighters will eventually continue the conflict.

It’s understandable why Israel is responding the way it is, but at some point, is it counterproductive to long term peace for Israelis?

I am not concerned with every last Hamas militant being dead.

The tribal leaders are weak but will come back into control. Hamas support in Gaza and generally among Palestinians is down as well. It is not popular. This was not a war the average Palestinian wanted.

Replacing Hamas is more important than killing Hamas.
