Superstar tax lobbyist Ken Kies now runs the Treasury department that makes the rules on tax dodges.

What are the odds that he favors his former (and future) employers?

When I lived in Texas, the insurance commissioner was a health insurance lobbyist appointed by the Governor.

In Washington State, the insurance commissioner is an elected office accountable to the voters.

My health insurance premium dropped by 60% when I moved from Texas to WA State in 2006.

Nothing new under the sun department. Over forty years ago, a second rate actor appointed a Chamber of Commerce lobbyist for exploiting natural resources as Sec of the Interior.
