Because a remote island inhabited by penguins belongs to Australia (~ 2,000 miles from the continent), the trump tariff’s are imposed there too.
..but not on Russia, of course.

But no tariffs on Russia. TIG says it’s pointless, due to the sanctions on Russia. But then, TIG has been pushing for those sanctions to be ended.
…surprisingly, my local public library still has it’s DVD of “The Manchurian Candidate”.

It is pre-emptive. Somebody besides penguins might live there someday, so we need to make sure we can punish them appropriately when the time comes.
Just last week Trump threatened more tariffs on Russia, so clearly we are not at 11.
