Trade update: India's LPG imports

In the midst of tariffs, trade wars and trade dealings, India has announced plans for additional imports of US LPG. As noted, India imports a significant amount of LPG for cooking purposes.

A related company mentioned on this board, BW LPG (BWLP) probably has a keen interest here. The company not only has an LPG shipping fleet. It also has a 52% owned subsidiary that is focused on LPG shipping in India. Furthermore, BW LPG has a trading unit, which usually work directly with end-user industries.

Well, that seems to be good news for my recent investment!

@JimA759s- I use it as a green shoot. I think if one is a BWLP shareholder, it is something to use for some assurance. Especially, if the cacophony of trade war news keeps hitting the headlines.

FWIW, the largest shareholder of BW LPG, BW Group, has an additional fleet of vessels that operate in the LPG segment. BW Group, has an entity called BW Epic Kosan that owns 50 smaller LPG carrying vessels involved in the LPG shipping business.

[Edit: Most of the smaller vessels are likely involved in shorter type trades. In the US, possibly for LPG deliveries to islands in the Carribean. In Asia, deliveries to smaller islands e.g. Indonesia, Phillipines, India]
