Tranferring files from old to new

The first idea I have thought of. Simply install the old C:\ to the new computers. Not sure I am still that technically savvy plus I seem to remember something about 2 drives with operating systems in the same machine and some conflict things happening while booting up. Not sure I need to revisit those thrilling days of yesteryear tinkering with a new computer.

Actually you would not add the old drive until you had set up the new OS on your new computer. Then you could shut the new computer down and add the old hard drive. The new computer will continue to boot off the new hard drive yet allow you access to the old hard drive files and the old OS will not even try to boot up…doc
