A tsunami advisory is in effect for the West Coast of the United States after a volcano erupted in the Pacific. “A tsunami has been confirmed and some impacts are expected,” the National Weather Service’s National Tsunami Warning Center said early Saturday.
A tsunami advisory is in effect for the following areas, according to the warning center: …
I got the warning on my cell phone plus a land line call.
Fortunately, we live on a ridge so no impact. Wendy
My sister lives on East Coast of Vancouver Island (Lantzville), they got some flooding during the recent storms. I texted her “Tsunami warning West coast”, of course with the 4 hour time difference she woke up to “what sounded like a foghorns” after she saw my text. She was already planning to put her “little house near the water” up for sale once they finish cleaning up from the last mess. Said it wouldn’t take much to wipe her and her neighbours out right now.
Here on the East coast we had a tremor in Eastern Passage once that almost nobody felt. Cartoon in the local paper showed one of those light plastic lawn chairs tipped over on it’s back and calling it major damage. }};-D
